The peaceful and creative experience of painting quietly in my studio is an essential part of my life. As many artists, I experience a dis-focus and unease when too long away from the studio. In contrast, procrastination - the fear of the empty canvas? - can cause me to avoid the studio. Once begun, however, the intrigue and challenge of close observation, the process of discovering what is emerging before me and the notion that what I am doing is significant all come together to envelop my thoughts in a place devoid of time and space.
